REQUEST PREVIEW

Kogo Gallery is pleased to participate once again at Esther, an alternative art fair in New York, organised by two galleries – Margot Samel in New York and Temnikova & Kasela Gallery in Tallinn. Esther III will take place from May 12 through May 16, 2026, during Frieze New York at the historic New York Estonian House at 243 East 34th Street.

The fair will feature projects by twenty-two international galleries from ten cities around the world. Over the course of five days, artwork, site-specific installations, and a range of performances and events will take place across the building. The fair and events are free and open to the public, however, registration is required.

At Esther III, Kogo Gallery presents works by two represented artists – Estonian artist Kristina Õllek and Latvian artist Elīna Vītola.

Kristina Õllek (b. 1989, Tallinn, Estonia) works at the threshold of photography, video and installation, often making use of microbial and chemical processes. Guided by research and speculative thought, her practice moves through aquatic ecosystems, geological matter and human-altered environments. Attentive to how new technologies reshape perception and the boundaries of image and space, Õllek’s work unfolds through ecological, hydrofeminist and interspecies imaginaries.

Elīna Vītola’s (b. 1986, Riga, Latvia) conceptual and visually vibrant work varies from paintings to complex communal installations involving several other artists and creative practitioners. Classically trained as a painter at the Art Academy of Latvia (BA and MA), Vītola has taken up this medium as a companion in her artistic journey to disentangle some issues that are connected with her identity as an artist and the art world in general and to build new platforms for other artists.
