Introduction
The inspiration for the series was an accidental moment a few years ago when she saw seemingly wild horses in the nature of Hiiumaa. This was preceded by rumbling and tremoring in the ground accompanied by fear, followed by the horses galloping through the sea water at full speed. Something so powerful and mighty that she was afraid of what would happen if all of that would disappear. She had seen similar, incredible landscapes in the Red Dead Redemption 2 video game, which she had been playing very intensively mainly during the COVID period.
Video games are classic “boy” things that are somehow a normal part of everyday life even among adult men. At the same time, there are few women who play video games, or they have become famous precisely because they are in this field. A la car repair women, who you don’t meet every day. At one point, Barbies are also packed up and said goodbye to, because playing “home” for girls has become a real home and besides taking care of it, there is no more room to play games or the freedom to escape to somewhere else in the world for hours and hours.
Various textiles and light boxes from this series were shown in 2023 at the Hobusepea Gallery and Tartu Art House in exhibitions titled Meadows of Change, a Place Called Home.
