    Modern Terazzo

    Cyanotype, monotype, silk-screen printing
    75 x 75cm

Kadri Toom combines various printmaking techniques to depict the beauty and harmony hidden in the symbiosis of flora and architecture. The artwork is unique.

Cyanotype is the world’s oldest photographic technique, a process in which an image is developed on paper in combination with iron-containing chemicals and UV light. Monotype, or oil colour printing, is a graphic technique in which an image is painted with oil paint on a glass, plastic or metal plate from which only one print is made. Colours you can get by using these techniques are limited. On this piece, Kadri Toom has used silk-screen printing to add a chip of neon yellow.
